Monarch Children’s Justice and Advocacy Center’s sixth annual benefit concert will be held Saturday, March 31, 8 pm at The WA Center for the Performing Arts in Olympia. We are thrilled this year to bring back the dynamic duo of the Total Experience Gospel Choir and The Righteous Mothers. Tickets are $25/person, or $20 for students, seniors and groups of 10 or more.  (Plus, WA Center’s service charge of $2.)  Tickets can be purchased at the WA Center’s box office or by calling them at (360) 753-8586.

In addition to the concert, KNIT OR STITCH and help fight CHILD ABUSEOnce again we will be selling donated stitched items at the concert.  This year we’re going for the S’s.  Knit or stitch socks, shawls or scarves of any color.  Bring your stitched items anytime to Canvas Works in Olympia during business hours, to Monarch’s office in Lacey, 420 Golf Club Rd. (The yellow building that says Family Service Center) , or if you’re not done until the day of the concert, drop them off at the WA Center after 3 PM.

THE TOTAL EXPERIENCE GOSPEL CHOIR bursts with love, joy and enthusiasm.  This award winning (over 150 awards) nationally and internationally recognized gospel singing group has performed with other musical greats including Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, Sweet Honey and the Rock, Steely Dan, the Judds and many more.  The choir includes young children, teenagers and adults of all ages from a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds.  Be prepared for an uplifting, energetic, and jubilant evening.

THE RIGHTEOUS MOTHERS are four funny philosophical female folk-rock musicians who through fearless displays of wit, marvelously inventive music and theatre-of-the-absurd drama will leave you roaring with laughter and crying with compassion.  One night with The Righteous Mothers is better then a month of therapy…and more fun too!

Proceeds from the concert go to providing free therapy and other services for sexually abused children and their families.

Please note:  Before March 7, you can buy tickets by calling the box office at 360/753-8586.  After March 7, tickets will also be available online at:  www.washingtoncenter.org/buytickets/
